‘Free’ Surf’s up at Plantation Island

Fiji-bound surfers looking to ride some of the world’s ultimate waves while enjoying all the delights of a Fiji resort experience need look no further thanks to a fantastic surf-oriented accommodation deal now on offer at Plantation Island Resort.

The Mamanuca Islands resort lies just a short boat ride away from many of Fiji’s renowned waves – including Cloudbreak and Namotu Left – and is the ideal spot for surfers of all ages travelling with families or partners, or as part of a group, to experience some of the best surfing on the planet.

Prices start from just NZD1448* for a value-packed five nights at a four-night price in the resort’s one-bedroom Garden Terrace accommodation.

Best of all for surfers, the special rate also includes free surfing for one person per room for five days however additional surf packages can be easily obtained priced at just NZD262* per person.

The resort’s daily surfboat service offers direct access at the best paddle in points to a huge choice of breaks including the legendary Cloudbreak, Desperations, Namotu Left, Swimming Pools, Restaurants, Tavarua Right and Wilkes Passage  – just to name a few.

Each surf trip departs on the high tide and last for approximately four hours giving surfers plenty of time to enjoy the breaks.

The offer is based on two days surfing Cloudbreak and three days at a choice of Wilkes Passage, Swimming Pools, Restaurants, Namotu Left and Tavarua Right.

Sessions include safety support and the resort can also help out with surfboard hire.

Cloudbreak needs no introduction, this classic left hand reef break re-emerging on the international surfing scene last year when it hosted the 2012 Volcom attracting all of the world’s top surfers including the event’s eventual winner, 11-times World Champion Kelly Slater.

This world-class wave will once again be the focus of worldwide attention next June when the 2013 Volcom Pro takes place.

As with the 2012 event, Plantation Island Resort will once again be offering surfing fans the opportunity to get close to the action aboard spectator boats, details of which will be released closer to the event.

Surfing has enjoyed resurgence in Fiji since the July 2010 release of the Fiji’s government’s Surfing Areas Decree which gave surfers, unrestricted access to any surfing area in Fiji.

Plantation Island Resort is the perfect destination for couples, families and young adults. In search of a fun, active and affordable Fiji island experience offering a wide range of accommodation choices to suit most budgets and a huge variety of activities
