New Zealand surf designer creates 3d printed fins out of polycarbonate

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 31 March, 2015 – New Zealand – Roy Stuart might look like a madman. And he very well may be. But his 3d printed surfboard fins—objects of cosmic, Plastic Fantiastic-esque beauty—will surely leave you scratching your head, wonder just what exactly that thing would feel like on your favorite board.

Fins like bubbles in a lava-lamp are made using a printed polycarbonate, and feature the “biology of the humpback whale and the microgrooves of shark skin as inspiration.”
